Kwik Protective Services (KPS) was founded by two best friends in the Winter of 2015. Christopher “Kwik” Dickens & Ahmad “Aj” Abram attended Morgan State University together and while working together in the field of unarmed security, they decided they wanted to do more. Both having a passion for firearms, they decided to obtain their Maryland Handgun Qualification License followed by their Maryland Wear & Carry License. After which, they started working together in the armed security field while maintaining other jobs simultaneously.
In 2021, Kwik decided he wanted to become an instructor. He then went on to become a USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor and officially created KPS on June 19th, 2021. A few months later he went on to become an NRA Certified Instructor. After just tenth months of teaching, Kwik was hand selected by the USCCA to be part of the first class of training counselors who had to be nominated and selected versus applying and being chosen to take this esteemed course.
Kwik knew that once he became a Training Counselor (TC), he could change the level of instructors who were being certified to teach in not just Maryland but in several other states as well. Students have come from as far as Michigan and New York to attend classes at KPS. Within his first year as a TC, not only did Kwik certify over 65 instructors, he also certified Aj and several other KPS instructors.
As time went on Aj & Kwik continued to train and elevate their skills to not only be able to provide the best possible service for their students but also for the clients they began to acquire when they transitioned to the Close Protection/Executive Protection field.
Unfortunately in July of 2023, the KPS Family and the world lost Aj, but we do all that we can to not only keep his memory alive and strong but to also continue to work and build as he would’ve wanted. Aj was the heart, soul, and glue of KPS and we wouldn’t be where we are without his efforts, dedication, and hard work.
